The USS Yorktown (NCC-1717-E) was a Defiant-class vessel. It is assumed to have been the first Starfleet vessel to make contact with the enemy during the Borg War after being sent into Krazzle space to investigate reports of a Borg invasion. Her last recorded transmission was brief and inelegant, but served a purpose to sound a warning across the Federation. "Many cubes... heading Raeya." The vessel is listed as MIA however the nature of its last transmission leads many to assume its destruction at the hands of the Borg fleet.
