United Federation of Planets Security Advisor

The United Federation of Planets Security Advisor is a member of the United Federation of Planets Presidential Cabinet. The Security Advisor serves as chief advisor to the Federation President on all security issues. The Security Advisor is independent from the Federation Department of the Exterior, Federation Department of the Interior and Federation Department of Defence. The position is appointed by the President and does not require a confirmation by the Federation Council.

The Security Advisor will work close with Starfleet, but none the less is not legally expected to endorse their suggestions to the President. During a crisis of Federation security the Security Advisor remains with the President. The Security Advisor also runs the Palais de la Concorde Monet Room, which is desginated as the Situation Room for the President.
