Personality
Yuri is cool and collected, although he is afraid of being seen as a coward. He frequently bottles things up, and lets them eat at him, as a defense mechanism. He is a very by-the-book sort of person, and less flexible about matters of protocol than some. He has risen through the ranks more quickly than expected due to the war and lack of officers, and harbors fears that he will not cut it.
He has hated the Borg since he was a very small child, his eldest brother whom he had never met was killed in action by them at the first Wolf 359.
History
Early History
Born in Russia on July 19, 2362, he was born into a family of ten, the last child. His mother, Helena, died during childbirth. His father, Yuri, named him for himself, and raised him until he died in 2372. His brother, Mikail, took care of him for two more years before passing him off to an uncle of theirs, although he kept in constant contact with his little brother.
He grew up with stories of Starfleet surrounding him, and his eventual path led to Starfleet. At the age of 17, he enrolled in Starfleet. He graduated just in time to hear rumors of Borg invasions all over the Alpha Quadrant.
Starfleet History
After graduating from the Academy, he began his postings on the USS Callisto, as the Assistant Strategic operations officer. That did not last long, he was posted on several different postings in various positions over the next six months.
