Julok a Vulcan engineer specializing in sensor enhancements. She was assimilated by the Borg for a short while as she served on board Starbase 21 along the Andorian border. Her crewmates from the starbase rescued her from the sphere that captured her. From her ordeal she was able to gain a higher understanding of Borg technology and use that information to her own use.

After the Borg War Julok returned to Vulcan where she became the head of the T'Plana-Hath Movement, an organisation dedicated to returning Vulcan back to the path of emotional control and logic advocated by Surak. The movement was deemed a terrorist organization by the Vulcan High Command. When the USS Enterprise-F arrived at Vulcan to retrieve Julok as part of Project Harmony, T'Val the ship's first officer and a family cousin of Julok was sent to Vulcan to convince her to return to the Federation. However Vulcan security forces tracked the Starfleet away team to the hidden location of the T'Plana-Hath Movement. Julok and T'Val were taken prisoner and T'Val was tortured. The pair escaped when Vulcan civilian protests against the High Command were forced to let them beam back to the Enterprise. (DS1: "The Vulcan Connection")
