Eden Seraphina Enigma is a Human-Betazoid woman who was a Starfleet captain in the twenty fifth century. She originally was given command of the USS Enterprise-F in 2400 (Ent-F:"The Winds Of Change").
She led the Enterprise crew on a mission to discover what happened to Alpha Centauri two months after the ship was launched. Enigma successfully discovered the ruins of an abandoned scientific facility on Alpha Centauri which was linked to experiments by Section Thirty-One (Ent-F:"Return To The Stars").
Enigma was known for her tactical assessing abilities and when confronted with an apparent hostile abandon alien vessel she was able to devise a tactic with her strategic operations officer, Lieutenant Michael Johnson which disabled the alien ship with barely any damage to it. The tactic was later nicknamed the Enigma Maneuver where two Hellfire Torpedoes were programmed to detonate the moment they phased through the shields of an enemy vessel causing disruption and failure to the shields. (Ent-F:"A Drifter On The Stream"). It should be noted how brave Engima was for trying this technique in the first place considering the experimental status of Hellfire Torpedos, had Enterprise not been taking part in the testing program Engima may have had to figure out another way of disabling the alien vessel.
In 2401 year she was re-assigned to Starfleet Temporal Investigations (DS1: "Back To The Final Frontier").
