D'kyr Class

D’kyr Class starships were a Vulcan class of ship used during the 22nd and 23rd centuries by the Vulcan High Command for interstellar missions. Many of these ships were retired in favour of newer class of Starfleet ships coming in to service. Many of these ships were mothballed to the Vulcan shipyards. During the 2390s the High Command believed that there was no way Starfleet could successfuly defend Vulcan from a Borg attack, and so began a program of re-comissioning many of these ships and start construction of their classes with upgraded systems. They were outfitted with Multi-Layered Shielding System, eleven type ten phasers and six torpedo launchers able to fire both photon and quantum torpedoes (DS1: "The Vulcan Connection").
