We Do What's Necessary

"We Do What's Necessary" was the first episode of the first season of Star Trek: Temporal Investigations.
Outline
Temporal Investigations receives word that a Kressari detected a unique chroniton waveform near the Veska system. Captain Eden Enigma recognizes the waveform as the byproduct of a Cardassian-designed temporal drive prototype. While the prototype was never made functional, the fact that a ship is making use of it is enough to bring Temporal Investigations into the situation. Enigma dispatches Lieutenant Commander Azrim Tain and Lieutenant K'Vack to Veska to learn what is happening aboard the Temporal Investigations shuttle Einstein, with the rest of the staff following aboard the USS Foresight.
On Veska, K'Vack is captured by a mixed-species group, though Tain is able to take one of the members of that group hostage. The hostage, a Ferengi, tells Tain that the group is led by a Klingon scientist named Moran, and that their goal is to travel back in time and, using transphasic torpedoes, prevent the Borg War from ever having occured. The ship equipped with the temporal drive is a Klingon Vor'cha-class battlecruiser named Arrow of Time, and its crew has been trying to complete the work necessary to make the make the drive operational.
Meanwhile, K'Vack is also interrogated, though he does not give the crew of the Arrow of Time any information. Eventually, however, a Vulcan named Sivok is brought in. K'Vack is stunned, and Sivok forces a mind meld with him to learn what he can.
When the Foresight arrives, Captain Enigma puts together a plan to rescue K'Vack and capture the Klingon ship. Using the Foresight's Captain's Yacht, the Tibbets, Enigma, together with Lieutenant Taris, will board the Klingon vessel. Enisgn Reino Manak, aboard the Foresight, uses an antiproton scan to find the ship for boarding. While aboard the Arrow of Time, Enigma, with advice via comm from Ensign Noran Gyle, disables the ship's temporal core, denying it main power and dropping its cloak, while Taris finds and rescues K'Vack. Once the ship decloaks, the Foresight, under command of Lieutenant Feathers, attacks, disabling its engines, weapons, and shields.
However, the while crew of the Arrow of Time is willing to surrender, Moran is not. Enigma and K'Vack beam aboard the ship to negotiate Moran's surrender, but, when he reaches for his disruptor, Enigma is forced to kill him. Meanwhile, his crew is beamed to the Foresight and placed into custody for trial on Earth.
The Foresight returns to Earth for the repairs it desperately needs, her first mission complete.
