USS Thanet

The USS Thanet (NCC-64088) is an Akira Class Starfleet starship under the command of Captain Norvo Pren. The Thanet had been assigned to the fleet appointed with the duties of protecting the Archer System during the [[Borg War]. Starfleet had assumed that after losing contact with the system that the Thanet, along with the rest of the fleet assigned to the system had been destroyed or assimilated by the Borg.

In mid 2404 the Thanet actually had survived the war and was working as part of the Starfleet defence network that was setup after the Archer system successfully defended itself against a large Borg armada. The Thanet itself assisted the USS Enterprise-F when it arrived in the system while being under attack by several Klingon ships, including the IKS Kortar. The Thanet later escorted the Enterprise and the USS Achilles to Starbase 18, where all three ships recieved repairs after their battle with the Klingons (ENT-F:"A Good Day To Die").
