Rain Jade Galagher was the chief engineer of the Federation starbase Deep Space One as well the Starfleet flagship USS Enterprise-F. Rain has served the Federation with distinction and honor through the Borg War as well as being one of a few officers who have served the Starfleet Re-Exploration Initiative the longest. She comes from the Galagher family, a family who has loyally served Starfleet for years.

Personal Background

Prior to 2400

Rain being Born of Tina Galagher and Javok, long time serving officers on the USS Denmark. Rain pretty much grow up on the Denmark, unlike her other siblings she developed her mother's temperament and did not really take the Vulcan training seriously, unlike her mother she never went AWOL when push came to shove in the Academy. Rain most times can be seen playing instruments in her off time as she developed a love for music at a very early age, by the time she was 10 she was able to play at least 20 instruments from various areas of space. Rain also developed the talents of her mother of engineering 'genius' and along side her mother can some times be seen creating a new design or improving an engine or fighter or anything that required the talents of Galagher clan. She not only became gifted in engineering she also became gifted in piloting or navigation of any craft out there. Her Uncle Everat Galagher Jr and her Aunt Beverly who took over Galagher Ship Yards when her chini passed away long before she was born they being who they were also would allow the Galagher siblings to hang around the ship yards. So thus Rain was very much involved in the test flight and the helping of the creations of anything new. (Galagher ship yards still operates but is very limited to resources and is only used as a back up for ship design and repair) by the time she was 15 she could fly everything from an escape pod to a heavy duty battle cruiser, and tell you every nut bolt and circuit that was put into the make up of that said ship. When she was 14 she lied about her age to get into the academy, using her skills as a 'hacker' to change the data base and use her older sister's age, she challenge tested all the entrance exams and all the engineering and flight operations. Finally reluctantly they allowed her to not go through those classes as she seemed to know more then most of them to a degree. She signed up for command classes as she wanted to be a ships captain like her father Javok, her Uncle Devon, her Aunt Bre and several others of her family. After two years of command structure she got bored of the classes as it was nothing that she already knew. So she challenged the tests and passed them as well. Again she went to try something else in diplomatic relations, and like her mother did several decades before, was terrible in it. So she then switched over to strategies and tactical instruction, that challenged her brain enough to get top marks. But not enough to hold her active brain. by the time it came graduation from the academy her age was found out as her mother and her father realised what she did. she had already been offered postings on several ships. Her mother practicly grounded her while her father reminded Tina that Tina was no different in her ways to get what she wanted. So Rain's mother had no choice but to give in and let their rebellious daughter be in Starfleet. But Starfleet was not impressed with Rain's deception of her so they held her back from doing any service on any starship or any were. So she was stuck on Academy grounds till she was to be 20. That was when she began to develop and fine tune weaponry development. Starfleet had seen her work and quickly insured her to weapons development department where she spent her 2 years of 'punishment' as she called it. She was finally allowed to serve in the stars and her first tour of duty was with ship that was later to be completely demolished as her CO refused to believe her that the engines were about to blow, only 12% of that crew survived. Like her mother she took on the Haida heritage so she sports the braided hair with the shells and feathers braided into the braid, the feathers braided into her grey streak. Rain is some times some one who goes on ego trips, as she knows she is intelligent and she likes to rub it in most times to people who try to show her up. But for the most part she is a good person. Just a bit temperamental.

After 2400

Rain was originally assigned as the Chief Engineer on the starship Enterprise-F with the rank of lieutenant junior grade. While there she became close friends with the ship's Chief Strategic Operations Officer Lieutenant junior grade Michael Johnson. Michael had soon developed an attraction to Rain but never acted on his feelings in fear of rejection. It wasn't until 2401 when the Enterprise was assigned to Deep Space One did Rain start to see Michael's attraction to her. Two years later she finally admitted to her own feelings but was too late as Michael left Starfleet due to family matters. She now works in Starfleet Re-Development Operations by the request of her cousin, Commodore Jessica Galagher.

Other Notes

Rain inherited her family talents of empathy, telepathy, healing, precognition, and average rating of 7/10 almost as strong as her mother scored in the telepathy and empathy. It is also rumoured she developed telekinesis, but no one has seen her for real. But if that is true then she would be the 2nd one in her family outside of her Aunt Breannae Galagher-Kando. The talent is in the family history but is not spoken about fully, as people are afraid of it
