Star Trek: Deep Space One is the Futility's End simm based on the Cairo Class starbase Deep Space One. Originally created by Alex Chad and later developed by Paul Redford the simm was started in March 2004 and has continued to become a well developed and productive simm of the Bravofleet affiliate Futility’s End.

It would be the first starbase simm for the group and would have several unique features to any other Bravofleet based starbase simm of its day. The base was devised as being constructed from derelict space ships and old parts from the damaged Federation fleet. It is also the only Bravofleet simm to have a support ship named Enterprise in it.

The simm continues to grow and is now is on its second year of success. Its member count has always been between eight to fifteen players at any time, making DS-1 one of FE’s many thriving simms to date.

The simm has progressed FE by taking on important roles in developing the story of the Federation’s attempt to rebuild after the Borg War. To date it has focussed on many famous and cannon Star Trek races including, the Ba’ku, Son’a, Bajorans, Cardassians, Vulcans, Andorians and shortly Klingons.
