T'Val is the current first officer on board the Federation flagship USS Enterprise-F, and the former first officer of the starbase Deep Space One. An experienced officer Commander T'Val has been serving with the crew of the Enterprise for over two years now.

Personal Background

Prior To 2401

As an only child T’Val was very close to both of her parents, Starfleet officers who served aboard the USS Repulse. She initially grew up living on the Repulse but left to attend the Vulcan Science Academy. Afterwards she enrolled in Starfleet Academy, and graduated just at the start of the Dominion War. She was assigned to Starbase 1, to work on building up Earth’s defense systems, where she spent the duration of the war. The Repulse however was destroyed during the war, killing her parents.

Being Vulcan T’Val found it only logical to continue her Starfleet career, and was assigned to the USS Grimson, where she worked her way up to become Chief Science Officer and later the ship’s Executive Officer.

Afterwards she transferred to the USS Iowa, a Galaxy Refit Class where she served as Chief Science Officer and Second Officer. There she moved up to become the ship’s Executive Officer, a post she held for several years until her marriage. Following her marriage she was transfered to the position of first officer aboard the USS Constitution, a Constitution Refit II Class starship.

After several years serving on the Starfleet vessel the USS Constitution she accepted a transfer to Vulcan, where she acted as a instructor at the Vulcan Science Academy. There she had two children and raised them with her husband Joshua Alexander. At the start of the conflict with the Borg she was reassigned to the USS Iowa-A. Her family stayed on Vulcan, where they would be safe. On the new Iowa she served as the ship’s CO after the death of Commodore Cabot the ship’s CO. The Iowa-A was destroyed at the Battle of Sol, though most of the crew was able to escape. After the war ended T’Val took time off, having suffered through the loss of her family during the Borg assault on Vulcan. She has been back at active duty for over two years now, and has served with distinction.

After 2401

T'Val was initially assigned to Deep Space One as its chief science officer to assist in cataloging the various gaseous anomomalies in the Briar Patch. She quickly rose through the ranks and became the Executive Officer. She continued to hold the position of Chief Science Officer as well until the death of Kentra Donrav and the joining of the Donrav trill symbiot and Meegen Ravax to form Megeen Donrav. The joined Trill then took over as the station's Chief Science Officer, leaving T'Val to focus on her role as first officer. She was instrumental in helping the crew find the missing scientists of Project Harmony. During the mission to Vulcan in 2403, T'Val was tasked with leading the away team to find the Vulcan scientist Julok who was leading the Vulcan T'Plana-Hath Movement, a movement dedicated to returning Vulcan to the path of Surak.

Though she does not always seen eye to eye with her human commanding officer Zack Marshall-Bennet, she is loyal to him and has yet to disobey an order. However recently she has been having personal problems. Since the death of her family she has been struggling to maintain control of her emotions, and her torture while captive on Vulcan has further upset her delicate Vulcan emotional balance. With the death of her only close friend Kentra Donrav she has become isolated socially and has struggled to keep her emotions in check while on duty. She is currently forming closer emotional ties with the Enterprise's second officer Commander Johnathan Marshall-Bennet, the brother of Zack Marshall-Bennet.

She has recently learned that she will be entering her pon farr cycle soon.
