Personal Background

2342-2358

Born Judith Grace Marshall to Philip and Glenn Marshall on 19th November 2342, Judith Marshall was raised in a simple lifestyle of farming and agriculture. She had a younger sister Andrea Marshall. Her parents were dedicated to the land while they resided on their farm land in the eastern region of the State of Connecticut in North America. Judith grew to love the land however like many others youngsters her age they heard the attractive stories of space exploration. Her father and mother had been Starfleet officers, just like their parents. Her parents proud for their daughter to attend Starfleet Academy supported her in attempts to join Starfleet.

By her sixteenth birthday Judith had passed the initial tests and was accepted in to Starfleet Academy.

Career

2358-2361

For three years Judith attended Starfleet Academy until she caught the eye of the commanding officer of the USS Britannia NCC-2106, an Excelsior class starship when she dazzled him with her knowledge of agriculture science. He soon offered her a position on board as assistant chief science officer.

2361-2381

In 2361 Judith meets Nicholas Horatio Bennet a young envoy who was also assigned to the Britannia on a diplomatic mission. The two officers fall madly in love with each other and in 2362 Nicholas asks her to marry him. She accepts his proposal and the two are married on the Britannia.

Judith became pregnant in 2365 and later gave birth to their first son who they name Zack. Judith remained the Britannia’s assistant chief science officer at the same time Nicholas is ordered to remain on the ship as a Federation Diplomatic Liaison Officer as its goes a on a short deep space assignment.

Two years later Judith gives birth to their second son called Johnathan as well is appointed as the ship’s chief science officer. Several senior officers from the Britannia were re-assigned as contact with the Borg was made. Starfleet fears that they need as many of their experienced officers spread through out the fleet to prepare for the worse. Judith successfully leads an away team to Evadne Four to study some of the planet’s native animals. The away team spends almost a week on the planet study numerous species. For actions in leading the team she is awarded the Starfleet Medal of Scientific Discovery and is made the Britannia’s Second Executive Officer.

The Britannia was one of a few ships to rush to Wolf 359 to render aid after the battle with the Borg Cube which carried the assimilated Jean-Luc Picard. The ship arrived two hours after the Enterprise-D had left to give chase against the invader. The Britannia began to rescue the survivors from the wreckages. However tragedy struck when the vessel was in range of the hull of the USS Princeton and the heavily damaged Niagara class starship’s port nacelle exploded. The eruption caught the Britannia creating several hull breaches in the saucer section. A number of the crew were killed including some of the bridge crew. Judith quickly took command of the vessel as her captain was rushed to sickbay. She successfully led the vessel away from the debris field and the Britannia was able to rescue over a thousand survivors. She given the battlefield promotion of lieutenant commander and assigned as ship’s XO. She was also awarded with the Christopher Pike Medal of Valour.

Judith hadn’t expected to take on a career change especially in to the command track. However her captain soon trained her to be his trust worthy first officer. In 2370 her commanding officer was promoted and took on a position at Starfleet Academy. Judith was made a Commander and assigned as the Britannia’s commanding officer becoming the first youngest female CO in the fleet in over fifty years.

In 2370 Judith took the time out to be with her family and for four years was on extended leave with absence. During this time she had the chance to spend quality time with her two little ‘‘"princes"’’, Zack and Johnathan.

Starfleet urgently recalled Judith back to service as well her husband for the Dominion War. Nicholas was appointed as a Federation Ambassador and was quickly taking to meet with Klingon Representatives on Khitomer to discuss the joint operations between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire.

Judith resumed her duties on board her old command the Britannia which had been dry docked at San Francisco Shipyards for years receiving major upgrades and refits. The Britannia was soon re-launched operating within the inner core of the Federation. The Britannia didn’t see much conflict during the first year of the Dominion War as the vessel was assigned to escorting troop transports and supply freighters from Earth to Starbase 19 to assist with the war efforts. Her two sons were left on Earth living with a cousin of hers in New Zealand.

However Starbase 19 was attacked by Dominion forces several months after the invasion of Betazed. The Britannia joined with forces from the Twelfth Fleet however they were unsuccessful in preventing the destruction of the station. The Britannia led relief efforts in to Betazed three days after it was liberated from Dominion occupation. The vessel remained in orbit as allied forces fortified the system with heavy weapon platforms and defence networks. Nicholas was re-assigned to the Betazed system to work alongside the Betazoid Government as it attempted to recuperate from the occupation.

Starfleet Command Headquarters had the Britannia soon re-assigned to the Third Fleet as its flagship to help in the protection of the Sol System. The Marshall-Bennet family was reunited for a short while for a few months before Nicholas soon had to leave when he was ordered to Deep Space Nine to work alongside Federation Officials in writing the surrender documents to be signed by the Dominion Leaders.

With the war now over Judith soon returned to command and brought her family on to the Britannia. In early 2376 Judith was promoted to Commodore as the Britannia departed Earth for a year deep space exploration mission in to the out edges of the Alpha Quadrant. The vessel made first contact with at least twelve new species, eight of who became friends of the Federation. 2377 saw the Britannia return to Earth at the same the USS Voyager arrived home from the Delta Quadrant. The Britannia had been part of the armada sent to engage the Borg Sphere which exited the transwarp aperture near to Sol.

2381-2403

In 2381 her eldest son, Zack departed the Excelsior refit class starship as he began to attend Starfleet Academy. A year later Johnathan left to attend the Academy as well. Nicholas soon retired as an Ambassador to the Federation and joined Judith on the Britannia. At the same time while they were together shortly Judith fell pregnant once again with her third child in 2384, this time the two were going to have a daughter. On 4th December 2384, Hannah Marshall-Bennet was born.

The Britannia continued to serve Starfleet well as it continued with its deep space exploration assignments in the Alpha Quadrant and assisting in restoring order to those worlds victimised from the Dominion War. However the ship was soon recalled to Federation space as the new threat from the Borg became apparent when they attacked the Romulans in 2385. Every single ship in Starfleet was placed on twenty four hour tactical alert. The Britannia was once again assigned in to helping with the defence of the Sol sector. Nicholas had been asked to return to assist with the political side of the new war.

Judith soon took command of forces from the third fleet with the Britannia remaining her flagship when she was promoted to Rear Admiral. Her task force was devised with defending important convoys from Earth to the various Starbases that were undergoing tactical oriented refits to fight the Borg. Tragedy struck Judith and her family when her husband was killed while he was on Deep Space Nine in 2386. Nicholas’ body was returned to Earth, where the a funeral was held for the famous diplomat. Judith took some time off from her work to grieve and come to the facts she was now a widow. She returned to service a few months later still grieving for her love.

Third Fleet also assisted in the evacuation of smaller Federation colonies that couldn’t properly defend themselves from the Borg. The Britannia engaged a number of Borg vessels, however on each occasion the ship would come out on top over their cybernetic enemy. For her continued efforts in defending the Federation Judith was promoted to Vice Admiral in 2390.

The Britannia continued to work alongside other vessels from the third fleet in combating the Borg straight until the final conflict, the Battle of Sol. In 2398 she was promoted to Admiral and offered the position to head the Starfleet Re-Development Operations Project. She took the position as her own vessel was heavily damaged from the Battle of Sol and was to be decommissioned.
