Star Trek: Enterprise-F was one of the original founding sims when Futility’s End was started in 2002. Set in the 25th Century, the sim follows the voyages of the latest Starfleet starship named Enterprise as it struggles to restore order to what is left of the Federation after the vicious Borg War.

History
Origin
Originally the sim was started by Keith Davis who wrote for the character of Captain Eden Enigma, the second female to command a ship named Enterprise. At first the sim was one of FE’s most popular sims and largest, however due to time constraints and personal issues Keith decided to step down as CO of the sim. The sim had gone well for one year as it dealt with the stories of unveiling classified information on Section 31’s involvement during the Borg War by creating genetically modified creatures to fight the cybernetic civilisation on Alpha Centauri. Other stories included what may have happened to Bajor during the war, what happened to particular group of survivors from the Fourth Fleet (characters who had connections with mainstream Bravo Fleet) as well as encountering a new race of unknown designation who fought the crew for possession of an unknown abandoned alien vessel. The sim also dealt with regular sub-plots of character development involving themes of how particular characters were affected by the Borg War. The sim was more aimed to follow along the lines of how Star Trek: The Next Generation portrayed the Star Trek Universe.
Rebirth
With Keith’s departure from the sim it was decided that those players who were left would be transferred to the new Star Trek: Deep Space One' sim which had just gone active in March 2004. This new sim was under the direction of Paul Redford, who had started on ST: ENT-F as his first Bravo Fleet sim. The Enterprise-F in character became one of the support ships of Deep Space One for over eighteen months before Star Trek: Enterprise-F was reborn with the current crew of ST: DS1. It was decided by the group of players that they preferred working on the Enterprise-F as the Federation’s flagship crew. Many times Enterprise was taken out for a spin around the block by the DS1 crew. First was to Bajor where the events of what happened to Bajor as well as Cardassia Prime during the war where completely unveiled. The second trip brought the flagship to Vulcan, where the crew discovered a conspiracy by the Vulcan head of state to take a more hostile stance against the Federation.
This story arc continued in to the next mission where with aide from Andoria the crew discovered the true reason why the Vulcans had become hostile, it was a plot created by the former head of the Romulan Tal Shiar and his subordinates to re-unify the Vulcans with their distant cousins on Romulus and remove the Federation once and for all. The theme of Vulcan hostility is now a common throughout a majority of the sims in FE because of what happened on Enterprise. The sim most recently was involved in developing what happened to the Klingon Empire and why it too is now taking a hostile stance towards its former allies, the Federation. This storyline was followed on by the storyline of the formation and development of the Bajoran Commonwealth in the Alpha Quadrant.
